Goucher students can advocate for regular deer population control. Talk to Goucher President Kent Devereaux and get Goucher administration to look into getting a professional to assess the deer population on campus and hiring a sharpshooter! Remember, having an overpopulation of deer on campus actually makes the deer suffer more. Goucher's beautiful environment will suffer from too many deer as well. Moreover, we'll suffer too; deers are carriers of ticks that carry many diseases. Other "non-lethal" methods aren't as efficient or effective as sharpshooting.
Furthermore, venison that is harvested can be donated to food banks, supporting the Baltimore community and its people.
